Borrow A Bigger Feed

Turn comments into reach

Oct 12, 2026

Welcome back to Viral Examples. Today (in 2 mins or less) we're diving into how to get in front of 50,000 people without publishing a single post.

The Piggyback Comment: Reach Without Posting

A creator with 900 followers writes a four-line comment under a post from someone with 300,000. The comment gets 1,200 likes. Her profile gains more visitors that day than her last month of posting.

Every large account is a stage with an open mic in the comments. Most people walk up and say "Great post." Then they wonder why nobody follows them.

A piggyback comment is a mini post placed where the audience already is.

1/ Add, never agree

"So true" earns nothing. Bring a specific example, a counterpoint, or the step the original left out.

Your comment should be worth reading on its own.

2/ Arrive in the first hour

Early comments get pinned to the top by engagement. Turn on notifications for five accounts your audience follows.

When they post, you write.

3/ Write it like a post

Line breaks.

A strong first line.

One idea.

Treat 40 words with the same care as 400. People read comments in the same feed.

4/ Pick accounts one tier up

Commenting under celebrities gets buried. Commenting under peers gets ignored.

Target accounts with five to twenty times your audience. Big enough to matter, small enough to notice you.

Your feed is one stage. The comments on bigger feeds are fifty more.

Take the mic.
